Coronavirus (Covid-19): What to Do If You Think You May Be Affected in Santa Barbara County
Call your doctor or your local public health department if:
- You develop symptoms, and
- You have been in close contact with a person known to have COVID-19 or
- You have been in an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19
Call ahead if you are going to visit your healthcare provider in person, so precautions can be taken to prevent spread of germs. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911. Individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 seeking care at hospital emergency departments are asked to call ahead if possible, or stop outside the emergency entrance and call the phone number provided at the entrance doors. A staff member will provide a properly fitted mask and assist with protected entry to avoid exposure to others.
