Anthony White, Captain in Santa Barbara County Fire

The Firehawk is a converted Blackhawk purchased by SB Co. from the California National Guard and recently modified for fire fighting and put into service this year. One805 provided funds to purchase two Litter Kits that allow the Firehawk to transport two medical patients on secured stretchers. The airship is a significant improvement over the existing fleet of five Huey UH1 ships. The Firehawk can carry 1000 gal of water (4 times what the Hueys carry). It flies farther and faster with twin engines esp. useful for ocean and rescues on the nearby Channel Islands. It can carry a compliment of 12 fire fighters in addition to its 4 man crew.
